About Us / Philosophy

Our Approach

We focus on taking client's broad ideas, strategizing a path, setting the metrics and bringing those ideas to fruition in the Internet space including social networks, virtual worlds, online communities and online entertainment. We build and improve online businesses. Our clients range from large publicly traded companies to entrepreneurs with a great idea and from brick-and-mortar shops looking for a web presence to private investors with a passion good enough to invest in.

Our mission is to focus on the simple yet intuitive interactions with advanced 2.0 products, offering our clients customized programs, cutting no corners (except, at times, rounded ones) and leaving ourselves enough room to always be thinking creatively for our clients. We are known best for being a nimble, Go-To team for anything from stealth projects to PRDs, redesigns and sneaky guerilla program. Although the company specializes online communities (since long before "social networking" was a buzzword), we're also believers in the core fundamentals of business strategy and execution.

We're old school web folks based in Silicon Valley with forward thinking social media jibberjabber. Some call us evangelists, we like to think of ourselves as a part of the social media founders circle.

Our History

Current 2008 projects have ranged from a killer technology in ecommerce to niche-based social networks; from a massive undertaking to revamp the way we communicate with new friends online, all the way to working with a leading faith-based outreach group. The company is currently working with their second publicly traded company on a long term social networking project currently in development that is uniquely geared toward like-minded thinkers. In January, one of the Threxy products was solicited by NBC Nightly News for its social network, Fertility Ties (http://www.fertilityties.com).

In April 2008, Threxy teamed up with a start-up-based PR firm in a collaborative relationship that mutually benefits both companies.

Our pro-bono project for 2007 is an online community, education and sales tool for Children's Musical Theater (the largest children's theater in the US). It launches May 1, 2008 at http://beta.cmtsj.org.

In Q2 2007 we moved into primarily coding in Ruby on Rails, which has been a huge, but profitable move for the company. The company also completed a marketing-focused short term project with Doppelganger, which allowed the company to expand its expertise into virtual worlds.

In Q3 2007 we moved our offices to a (slightly) larger cottage and in Q4 we changed the name of our company from 3exY, Inc. to Threxy Inc. (yes, it was to avoid porn spam filters). We also took the growth opportunity to expand our business further into GUI and Usability.

In 2006 the company took on several large-scale projects with the core project being the privately funded Newsiasm. The positive news website was a first for Threxy; taking the project from concept through business plan, website execution and editorial management. We handed off the product in April 2007 and. although built to scale for mass, Newsiasm was put to pasture by its investors.

Threxy's inaugural product, Family Routes (http://www.familyroutes.com) was launched in February 2006 after six months in production. It was the one and only project that was off-shored (to Siberia) and was bootstrapped by its founders. Although Family Routes gained VC and investor interest, and led the Family social networking vertical in Alexa ratings (even, at times, above well-funded startups) the company's principals decided to no longer put engineering time into the project by January 2007.

Threxy (3exY) was founded in June 2005.
